Jan Burns is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Licensed Addiction Counselor. Jan has over 20 years of clinical experience working with adolescents and adults. She earned her master’s in 1996 from the University of Denver and her bachelor’s in social work and addictions from Metropolitan State in 1987. Jan has primarily focused on working with addictive disorders, criminal behavior, trauma, and other co-occurring disorders. She is currently completing a certificate program through the Gestalt Equine Institute of the Rockies. Jan has provided treatment in a variety of settings, from out-patient to corrections. She has also served as Executive Director of the West Texas Council on Drug and Alcohol Abuse.
Jan is in recovery herself and stays involved with her 12-step home group. Her passion is helping others heal and finding joy in their lives. She was born in Colorado and participates in Phoenix, a sober active community. She enjoys climbing with her spouse and friends and caring for her aging mother.
